    Gorgeous, evelyb.
I prefer them to new cuts, who cares about colour when you have that true character.

I'm going to start a "Show your Old Cut Diamonds" thread----I'd love to see everyone's old bling!

That should give me an incentive to start photograph some of them. I think I've only got one pic.:shame:

I don't have many other than this one. I love the old stuff too; modern brilliants aren't worth the effort.

Simply gorgeous! I had a watch chain just sitting there, one day I thought it might be nice as a bracelet but it was too long, so now in summer I wear it as an anklet with the swivel catch. Lots of compliments. I also wear my mothers tiny finger wedding ring on my toe. As far as the “chastising” remember most of us bought our antiques that were for sale and priced. You paid the price. It’s yours enjoy without guilt. I have purchased 2 14k necklaces for $1 and didn’t see any marks b-4 purchasing. The feel was there and so is a gamble. Albeit the gamble was cheap but today there a lot of marked fakes out there. Nice find

We had a yard sale when I was younger, probably 40 years ago, and my dad had put out a box of really, really nice metal trains (I'm thinking they were Lionel trains but not sure) with tracks and all the accessories. They were his father's, so they were from probably the 1930's.

My dad didn't have a price on the box as he wasn't sure how much it was worth. A guy came over and offered my dad $50 for the box. My dad said, "Na, $25 will do".

My mom probably bored holes in the back of his head with her eyes, and he never did live that one down.
