It cleaned up beautifully. As new. Unfortunately I cannot upload a picture tells me that the file is too large. Is there a limitation to the number of pictures we can have in our galleries?

Photos have to be 600x800 or smaller to upload. Most of us have some sort of photo software and resize things as needed. Microsoft Paint will do it. If you're on a phone...not a clue. Mine more or less makes phone calls.

Thank Silver. One word - experience. Plus I have always had a very good visual memory.

    Re: polishing:
I'm not a silver expert, but I remember being told by someone who is, that silver is an exception to the "never polish" rule.
Silver collectors apparently like their items shiny, and tarnish/patina reduces value.
Almost any other item though, one should not polish. I'm sure there are other exceptions that I'm not aware of.

    Hi Marie Forgan,
I am still learning how to run this new camera. Here is the photos of my found Elizabeth I six pence. Found in the mud while they were building the intrastate highway.

    Hi Marie,
I guess it was a good luck piece for an old sailor who was unlucky enough to fall in the river and lose the coin. When the gov was digging up the Philadelphia shore line which had not been touched for 200 years all kinds of stuff was found. Cannons, guns all sorts of coins and bottles. The best was an old burlap bag containing 25 pieces of solid silver tea service. There was an article in the old 1772 Philadelphia newspaper offering a reward for its recovery just took 200 hundred years to find and recover. I found 100s of old onion bottles and clay pipes. I think it was 17 or 18 old cannons were found. On weekends there were 100s of "Mudlarkers" like along the Thames.
So much was found that disappeared into collections and sold. The museums started to send workers out to gather things. I remember one Saturday the area were I was digging was covered with several barges of mud and dirt. It was like the gold rush.
