I always see that a person has posted but not their comments.

Family stories can change as time goes by...

I have a photo of my father (who passed away 12 years ago), standing in the Rose Garden at the White House listening to a speech by JFK. He was part of a small audience of business men who where were there to hear a talk about hiring handicapped workers. It was taken by the Washington Post and IDed on the back as being their image.

One day a few years ago my sister called me and asked if I had the autographed picture of my father standing with JFK. She wasn't lying, the story just got bigger and bigger as it made its way around the family.

It happens, maybe it happened in your family, maybe not. Either way it's time for you to chill out. You asked for help and someone, in good faith, offered an opinion. There is no reason to be nasty.

I'm going to toss my .02 in

The picture could have very well been on the QE2

I see lots of places that have pics on the wall, I think they call it decor. ;)

The picture does not equate Al Jolson actually being there.

    Again, just my .02

desperate_fun, based on the posted photos of the theater bar, where OP said it was from, I don't think it was there. It may have been somewhere else on the ship, but again, he was a lot earlier than when the ship launched.

Like I said, family stories have a way of growing over time :shame:

    Correct, Marie.
Jolson passed away 19 years before QE2 was launched.

Yes I know but it could of been put on the QE 2 or even they got it wrong and it was the original liner ,

I'm not saying its defiantly that just its a possibility ,

Seeing he was around the queen elizabeth liner,

The two liners are extremely different in appearance. I can't see someone who worked on them, getting one confused with another.

Who knows what I'm trying to say it could have been there for a special cabaret night a tribute to Al johnson by the queen elizabeth theatre company ,

All they could of had a wall of past perfomers on the original queen elizabeth ,

It's to easy to discount any thing ,

But I agree with anyone without any real providence its just a photo,
