Well many don’t use an avatar but do use the male and female symbols and those who are unsure use a ‘?’.

 

That's really weird that you draw blanks on some avatars.....
Try kicking it upstairs to Support & testing and maybe Davey can come up with an answer...

Thanks! It's just something from an old blog I used to run. When I signed up for the forum somehow it got automatically imported as my avatar, so I never actually picked to use it here (and should probably change it at some point). I don't remember what fabric I scanned in to make it but it could well have been William Morris, good guess!

Not sure why some can see it and some cannot? It's not that interesting in any case

 

So I logged in this morning, and saw 3 pages of a new jewellery thread, wow, that'll keep me going til breakfast.
Took a look, and it is all about blank avatars!
Which aren't even blank!

Nice avatar, Aureliel. And very pretty brooch, agree with evelyb and kyra, it is glass, possibly base metal, late 19th century.

Yeah we tend to get off topic.
That's what happens to us old folk. We get easily side tracked.

It's sort of like starting to clean something in the front room, realizing something should be in another. So you take it there, spy something out of place, straighten that - hear the dryer stop. Go to fold towels, put them away and realize the bathroom needs cleaning, splash water all over your self. Go back to change, realize that those are summer clothes you won't be wearing so start weeding clothes to be put away. Take to the other bedroom closet spy something that should go to the thrift store. Take it to the box in the garage and pass weeds that need to be pulled. Spend an hour outside, go in to change and see the closet is still torn apart.
By the end of the day, you're exhausted sit down to have a cup of tea and look at the front room you started in and realize you never got done with it and wonder where the day went.

 

So that's not it.
