An early car warmer my guess too, but by the art deco period they advanced beyond this. The geometric letters are not mounted in a vertical position and are carved, rather than cast. That and the gaps in the joining of the streamlined shapes make me suspect it's cobbled together from parts and not a professionally manufactured product. However, it's very cool looking!
a OOAK would indeed be impossible to elsewhere..... hummm ! that hadn't crossed my mind.....but there are no factory marks....so ?
Thanks for bumping this up, komo. I remember it from before, and still don't have any suggestions. (Didn't read the whole thread again but don't think I commented.) I love the "space age" look of this thing. I guess the original poster was last here in February 2023... @Miscstuff
There are a few things here.... we've never been able to identify.......but this critter has had my attention for a long time , and has twisted me in knots !!
Hello everyone. Reached the "old geezer has retired" stage so buy/flog on eBay has come to a halt and money has to be watched so less impulse buying these days. Thanks for keeping it going Komo. It resides in my curio cabinet along with my "Dancing Dude" (https://www.antiquers.com/threads/what-kind-of-figurines-am-i-looking-at-part-2.41555/) and my weird nut crusher (https://www.antiquers.com/threads/i...t-100-years-of-patina-ill-eat-my-socks.61925/). Would have posted a photo of my cabinet but discovered Window10 doesn't like my 20 year old camera. Bummer!! It also hated my 23 year old state of the art PC so upgraded to a 19 year old one. Kiss my butt windows. There we go. Grumpy old pensioner fitting right in. Cheers everyone. Stephen
Nice to see you come out of retirement to get back on board.........where you belong....with all your weird offerings !!!!!...
It resembles some early TV remote controls, but I would guess a switch of some sort would be required.
With all the new faces.....and @Miscstuff still using this fir his avatar..... it is time once again to present our ... arguably most confusing item we've ever seen here. Yet to be positively identified !
This is not it but I did stick it on my watch list awhile back because it reminded me of this question. I doubt it helps at all. I don't remember if it's already been discussed here or not....been a long time since I read through. https://www.etsy.com/listing/696788...yle-rocket-front-cover?ref=user_profile&frs=1 This is a great vintage style aluminum Rocket Hood Ornament for a car or motorcycle.
