I posted here when I first found it - and found it's a newer copy because the edge of the shade is cut straight instead of rounded from hand sanding.

I’d recommend putting a probable ending time. Even if it’s open ended and you’re not sure. I often see listings with no end time and I just assume it’s probably over at 2-3pm. So there are possibly sales I’ve skipped that were still open because I didn’t want to drive all the way there and find out the hard way. So if you’re not sure maybe say, “definitely open until X time but may go later, drop a line to find out”. Or something like that. Im sure you know about estatesales.net but just in case you don’t that is the preeminent place to publicize estate sales. There’s a fee but you’ll get to most eyes there I think. Good luck!

It depends on where you are. Around here estatesales.net is dead, but estatesales.org is better.

I love estatesales/net but my issue is I'm doing it alone so I have people call ne for address to keep a semi appointment schedule.
It socks but last time I let people come as they wanted a couple cars came at same time & once the group was inside they split up - and some expensive stuff was stolen.

Ack. I hate thieves. I hit one estate sale today because it existed - not rained out. Spent $10 I shouldn't have. They didn't have to worry about thieves; they'd cleaned the house out and there was nothing worth stealing.

    Saturday update - $30 on 5 playboys!
Another offered $50 on 7 sealed Legos that I wanted $100 for - I dropped to $60 but wouldn't go to $50 and he didn't buy them.
    That was the people today!
There were 20+ fb messages asking about it, but most don't leave their homes in the afternoon with the heat & humidity, which is why I start at 8am.
    Better luck tomorrow- please!

A 40% drop on the first day is rather a lot, but it does indicate what conditions are like out there now. If the dude is a reseller, margins are tight and getting tighter. He might have needed the $10 to make the math work, or just not wanted them enough. At least the true tire-kickers didn't show up.

I bailed on a dental cleaning on Tuesday because temps are supposed to hit the high 90s when i'm supposed to be there. That can't happen. So I get why afternoons are out for a lot of folks, especially the older ones.

    Where are you?
The humidity is the worst- your soaking wet 5 steps out of your house or car!

Connecticut, believe it or not. Leaving church today and standing outside at noon gave me problems.

My brother is near you in Mass. My dad is a big gambler (shooting dice) , he goes to Foxwood in Conn. Because they comp you so well , when he wants to go they send a private plane for him! My brother will drive there to meet us & I think I remember it takes him an hour or so from where he lives to conn/foxwood.

Today was Much better! 3 customers- 1 couple bought nothing, but 2nd bought $600 worth of stuff & 3rd couple spent $130 on albums - so not great, but so much better than it could have been!
Thanks for all well wishes- they helped!

Fair enough. I feel for you doing it alone. I wanted to do the town tag sale this year but didn’t have anyone to do it with me and didn’t want to deal with the stress of one set of eyes. The way you’re doing it definitely controls that problem but also may turn some buyers off. So it’s a catch 22. Better than getting your stuff stolen though. It does really stink you had that happen. People can be such jerks.

Better him than me. I gamble at estate and tag sales. The odds are a little better. Poker rooms I get, but not games whose odds automatically favor the house.

Craps are about the best odds I think - I'm a poker player myself.
