Lovely little painting. Great work in finding that site, Wanttoknow! Although I see differences in the signatures, there are also similarities to the one that Wanttoknow posted, especially the crossbar on the "A" and the way some of the letters seem more vertical than horizontal. His signature has some significant differences from both in the example on this site: http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/clars-auction-gallery/catalogue-id-srcl10036/lot-642d7065-5b82-4f66-b4c0-a4ba011e0cd4 One thing that seems to be similar to one of Wanttoknow's examples is the way that he tended to put long lines at the bottom of many of the letters in his name. And he did that in others. Maybe you could take your painting out of the frame so that you can see the bottom of the letters in his signature? To me, one of the more problematic things is that there is no middle initial "M." on yours, cxgirl. I wonder about that. I also noticed that his son Alex Angelo Podchernikoff was an artist, also. Can any examples of his work be found? Was wondering whether there is any chance that your painting was by the son.
