I dunno, he does all that and he is Indian, they can tell at a look if a metal is precious. Why do you think India has more gold than anywhere else in the world? We put it in banks, they put it in gold, spit on silver, gems etc usually.

When you write a post, there is a task bar above your post. A bit to the right is a smiley. If you click on that, a menu with emojis appears at the bottom of the post, and you can smile to your hearts delight.:):):):):););):playful:

Cute necklace. It reminds me of necklaces I've seen at art/craft fairs. The clasp is a newer style. If you Google "silver spring ring clasp," you'll see similar--some in sterling. Did you look closely at the clasp for a silver mark? It's possible the beads could be older, but I suspect the fish came from a bead/craft store or an online seller.

I think that is a stretch.
Looks like someone took rose quartz beads (can be bought new, or they took an old necklace apart), part of an old 40s-60s Lucite necklace added a pewter fish (easily attained at bead and gem show for pennies) and strung them all together.
I think it would have looked better if there had been at least 3 fish instead of just the one.
I would not call it rare, or Mid century. It was strung "yesterday" with a mix of old and new pieces.

Yay! And I bet Hill Tribe, you can check the prices in the links. The Hill Tribes often use a higher fineness than sterling. 950, if I remember correctly.
Nah, just been around ethnic jewellery a lot.:) Sometimes I'm a bit slow in remembering that I have been, and should look in that direction.:banghead:

Maybe, if you look at the little spacers they are really worn in as is the rest of it, bought it with some other nice gold and silver and gemstone MCM bits in Germany, anyway it is a ooak novelty piece and as such its going on!!!
