    Hi,
Back in the 1970s a hospital where I was working throw out tons of stuff from the old medical school. There was a large box of glass "eyes" . I found the box and sold it to a girl I knew. She was an "artist" of jewelry. She made those eyes into pins and necklaces and sold them in NYC. She said she got the idea of jewelry from years ago when two people were in love but married to others they sent paintings of one of their eyes to the other so they would know but others would not know who they were. That pin reminded me of one of her creations.

Lover's eye art was a "thing", back when. This piece and the glass eye jewelry were modern variants. The old ones can be worth a packet when they turn up.

Yes, lover's eye jewellery! Mostly Georgian!
I'd love to grasp some old prosthetic eyes as you got then :pompous:!

Evelyb, yes! Such highly priced there are fakes now... using antique mounts and put prints inside :banghead:

Just catching up on threads from the last 2 weeks.

You're someone after my own heart.
Bee and insect jewelry (although I probably would have passed up the centepede).
Eyes and skulls. Used to be able to pick them up very cheap back in the late 70s and 80s. Have to dig out my old box if I can find it.

And the French enamels are lovely.
    Beautiful collection.
    Welcome to the board.
