Well, after a more careful look at the item sold on Etsy which is the same, it seems to me that the missing letter is P, which is the Cyrillic equivalent of R. Not Я but P. Unfortunately I have no idea which mark it is. It might well be the suggestion of Nathalie - Rostov (Ростов), the only problem is that I have never seen it being referred to other than Rostov-on-The-Don (Ростов на Дону). But maybe for the mark they have shortened the name.

Anyway, it is a beautiful Russian (if not USSR still very close assuming 1993 as the date on the mark) real amber brooch most probably with gold coating, so cxgirl, congratulations!

Nathalie, I mentioned the words "your Rostov" - I am not Russian, thank God! I think it is nowadays abusive to call someone "Russian", they have dwarfed themselves as a nation to the least possible human level, even below it, I'd call them "animals" but it would be abusive to animals. Those few Russians who are sane and have kept their normal human features, are ashamed of their nationality. And for a very good reason! My only Russian friend left (and I used to have some) is a young guy who left Moscow at the end of February and keeps talking about the dictatorship in Russia and the barbarian war it waged towards Ukraine. Just to clear the matter.
