A biplane in that year in Florida is very interesting to me! From about 1918 to 1922/23 my mother (age 7 to about age 10) with her family spent the winters in West Palm Beach, FL. My grandfather had been hired to organize the clearing of land, specifically forest, somewhere around West Palm Beach for development by a group of investors, doctors, out of Boston. He was an experience lumberman with several sawmills and crews in Connecticut. One Sunday afternoon, mother with her father, mother and brother were having a picnic at a park when in flew a biplane offering rides for about 50 cents. My grandfather took a ride to the worry of my grandmother. Mother said it was thrilling to see that plane and especially to see her father flying. The flight only lasted about 15 minutes.
