Without research I'm going to guess that the stars over anchors are to delineate Senior Chief (1 star) and Master Chief (2 stars).
It's also possible the 6 other stars may mean 24 years of service

Believe it or not, I got hold of a whole pile of the tools in the top image a few years ago. Made a necklace out of them. It weighs a ton, but it's cool.

King, I found this one on line, labelled U.S. Navy Command at Sea insignia, but it said that the "insignia was established in the U.S. Navy in 1960"... I'm pretty sure these are WWII era, so I guess I'm confused (?)

I have another question, too: should I be polishing all these things, or should I leave them "as is"?

    Thanks again!

Ok but, if keeping, I'd leave them be unless anything is badly tarnished and green. :)
