The real question is why do you care, and why are you looking?
That is why people don't put anything out there.

However, I do agree it would be nice to know what country people are posting from.

Well, as i pretty much hang in furniture forum, location is VERY important in the antique furniture world if a poster is wanting to ID and age of a piece from photographs alone.
My number one post in furniture forum after initial thoughts about a piece?
"where are you and where did you get the piece?"
And, the first place i click after reading a post? His/her name/avatar to see where they are located which is almost always blank!

here is what I see on my profile page - how do I add information? I know how to change my avatar photo Maybe I should ask this on the support section?

 

I would estimate 90% or more of the regular posters on this forum are anonymous. Aside from above reasons why location is important, EARTH TO FORUM: it's just polite to identify oneself when speaking with a stranger!
I am not a big fan of speaking with someone who remains anonymous because i prefer to know who in the hell i am talking to! Otherwise, you tend to all run together, a mass of anonymous people, i don't know who it is i am speaking with, no reference points at all.
Rude behaviour i say!

Click on your name as it appears in the dark brown heading line. First choice is Personal Details. Near the bottom of that page is Location. Add what you want it to show there.

At the top of this page on the right hand side you will see your "name"
Click it
It will take you to your profile page where you are SUPPOSED to fill in your details

 

here is how I did it - went to profile page, then profile posts and updated my information in a post

 

sorry for appearing slow but it doesn't show up there James, I had to update information in a post

 

C'mon james....no one here is SUPPOSED to......it would be nice if they did......but this is not a fishing license , car license or anything even remote to that.
It's not mandatory.....same way that most folks ignore the INTRODUCTION page.

You're asking for info that most folks would rather not give out......4 whatever reason......& while it would help us ..... this anonymous age we're in , is what it is !

 

If a form was mandatory to fill out before joining here....we'd have 5500 less members !
