I have two trinket boxes shaped exactly the same as yours. I bought them in
the town of Vietri sul Mare in Italy @1998.

Vietri sul Mare IS the town you visited rro that's famous for it's wonderful hand painted ceramics. Vietri is the US company that's been importing those ceramics for decades.

I'd post pics but given that this is a public forum I just don't think I'm comfortable doing that-I'm pretty private on that level not that any of this stuff was really expensive-most of it was bought at garage sales and flea markets but it does make for one very colorful kitchen.

Vietri sounds like a place I would enjoy visiting.

And a colorful kitchen sounds like one very happy place!

Vietri is beautiful-the Amalfi Coast is amazing but for that matter, IMO all of Italy is pretty amazing. Colorful kitchens are fun and since it was my mother who started me on Italian/provincial pottery as well as Mexican pottery it's kind of an homage to her.

Back in 1998 my DH was still in the Navy and we were living in Spain. Myself and three other girlfriends caught a hop to Naples where we rented a car and drove down the Amalfi coast to Positano. What an enchanting town. We spent a week driving all the way to Venice, shopping and sightseeing the whole way. Every inch of that car was filled with crockery which we mailed back to ourselves - free!
