I think the "other guy" is the painter himself.

These appear to be pastel portraits made from photographs.

That would be fun - early "selfie with the famous" kind of thing. :)

I'm leaning towards Lanza now, too. In addition to hair and hairline, he was more of a Sinatra/Martin-style crooner than the other singers we've mentioned.

But... the paintings indicate that the unknown guy was taller than Sinatra and Martin, but Lanza was the same height as Sinatra and two inches shorter than Martin, so dunno.

If the artist had any hope of selling his paintings, I don't think he would have put himself in them.

Wayne Newton was 4" taller than Martin and 6" taller than Sinatra, which is one reason I thought it might be him.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think Mario Lanza's hair also has some resemblance, but... did he hang around with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin at all?

    Lanza died in 1959.

Lanza died at 38 & other than sending a telegram for his funeral I see no mention of him being buddy buddy with Frank !

Lanza and Sinatra were just a few years apart in age - about 6. Frank's 100th birthday was last week. I didn't look up Martin, but I would say similar vintage. Lanza did appear in several movies and did some "popular" songs, although he is best remembered as an opera singer.

It might be that they knew each other, but my impression of both "portraits" is that the artist copied separately available photographic images into made up "buddy" pictures.

I haven't a clue to the unknown man. I thought Bobby Darin,
Mario Lanza and Jerry Lee Lewis, "The Killer," were good guesses; however, it was common knowledge among his associates that Sinatra hated Bobby Darin because Darin used to brag that some day he would be bigger than Sinatra. Sinatra took no humor in anyone encroaching on his territory. I could find no pictures of Darin with either Sinatra or Martin. As Baker pointed out Lanza died in 1959. I could find no pics of Lanza with either Sinatra or Martin.

As to Jerry Lee Lewis, his face was much thinner then the person portrayed in these pics. Also in the early '60s his hair was almost blonde. I could find no pics of him with Sinatra or Martin either. BTW, Jerry lives about 10 miles due south of us in a different town. He has been a legend of hmmmm....one sort or another in the Memphis area since the beginning of time. Back in the late 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, it seemed like once a year the IRS trucks, etc... were at his home hauling off stuff and such to pay off his huge tax debt. At one time the tax debt was over $4 million.

Lewis has 2 cousins of note, Mickey Gilley and the one time TV evangelist Jimmy Swaggart. Swaggart sexual scandals had him "defrocked" and brought down his empire. In 2013 a club on Beale St. up in Memphis opened supposedly owned and run by Lewis. A short time later I had the opportunity to talk to his cousin Mickey Gilley in Branson, MO. I asked him about the club. He laughed and said Jerry didn't own the club. They only paid him money to use his name. I won't go into that other cousin he married when she was 13 and he 22. That relationship was well documented in the movie Great Balls of Fire. My apologizes for digressing into the world of gossip. :(

Nowww I did spot pics of a Sinatra and Darin Show. They are in black tie, but definitely different from these pics.:

Tom Morris was a portrait artist in Las Vegas for over thirty years. He had a studio in the lobby of one of the casinos. I met him in Ridgway Colorado in the mid 1990`s after he had retired. Most of his portraits where done in about a hour. He figured he had painted over 200,000 portraits including many of the stars that frequented the Casino his studio was in.
I own the last portrait he did in 2000 and the only one he ever did outside
