I got flamed by a poster asking a question about age of an item on the old boards after I gave an accurate account of that age. They then thanked other posters for their inaccurate info.

That place is NOT fun anymore. VERY hostile.

Thanks for posting the link, Fig. I didn't go back far enough when looking. Wow. That thread took a nasty turn. Looks like the mod was involved, too. The mods got rid of Deep? Really? Huh. Regardless, I won't be back on the ebay boards anytime soon.

Awhile back I suspected that Deep was Indy,if you look at Deep's other ID's, he used "isdaonlywhiteboyindagetto", and Indy uses "in da" a lot in his posts.

I tried to find a way to delete that thread and get out of there. I hope it just dies now. In such a hostile environment you become torn between defending your honor and running for your life. I like how the Jewish poster used the term "goyish" and that was left there by the mods, but they edited where I pointed it out. Goyim is one of the most derogatory names for everyone I can think of.

    goy
Hebrew and Yiddish term for a non-Jewish person; synonymous with "gentile." Usually neutral, despite persistent ***untrue*** rumors that it is derogatory. It should only be considered offensive when it is used in a context indicating that it's intended as an insult, or said in a tone of disgust- much like the word "Jew." Plural, "goyim"; adjective forms "goyish," "goyishe," "goyisher."

I take it Vern, that it was used against you as an insult , or you were taught it's meaning by someone who had been .......otherwise I am unsure why you would be so offended by a word that is described as....

    1. A Hebrew word used in the Jewish Scriptures (a.k.a. the Old Testament). The word means "nation," and is always used within these scriptures to refer to the nations of the world. Significantly, within the Old Testament, Judah (the Jewish nation) itself is called a "goy."

I would think "Shiksa" would be a worse term ;). I worked for an Orthodox Jew and he taught me all kinds of words,LOL. ;)
