After three coats of stain, it's time to move onto the next step, which will be drilling and screwing the new frontpiece onto the base...



Right now, that's just sittin' there. We gotta drill holes and then screw it in properly to attach it to the rest of the base. No doubt the end with the lock in it (on the left) will be very happy - it's been wobbling around everywhere because of the lack of support.

Here's what it'll probably look like with the lid on. Got my finger there to hold it straight:

 

All Done!!







Should be good for another 70 years!!

Now to start quilting...
