    Edan Huges passed away in 2015, taking his passion for California art with him. A portion of his collection was donated to the Crocker Art museum. I happened to meet him on the street in SF about 20 years ago. He was carrying paintings in to a building. He invited me in to what was either a store front or his apartment (maybe both). It was chock full of paintings and I admired a few. I had no funds at the time and had just begun my own collecting. Only on greater immersion in the art field and past reflection did I realize who I had met.

    Yeah I remember my step dad saying he was a really nice guy on the phone. At that point in time he had discontinued the direct handling of the dictionary, but got them in contact with the people that had taken over the distribution. I thought that was pretty cool.
