The Dutch who emigrate there might become famous skiers in time!!

Our Winters here in Ma vary from that in Western Ma to Eastern Ma where I live (10 miles N of Boston). The West usually has much more snow, but we get our share here too. Each Winter is different.......with all the stairs I have, both front and back, as I get older, I wish for less snow.......but I'll take snow over ice any day.

I think this bible has little monetary value. It's a fairly standard family bible and not in very good condition. Dore was an enormously popular illustrator. Such value as this has will probably be in the illustrations, but they're common.

I'm in Connecticut. It's not unusual for us to get 20cm of snow in one shot. More than once per Winter. Temperature swings from day to night can be 20 degrees easily, in centigrade, or sometimes more. To a Norwegian it would feel positively balmy most of the year. You poor Dutch would either roast or freeze, depending.

Now you know why we always rate high on the happiest nation list. Mind you, last time we finished after cold countries like Norway, Iceland, and Finland. Maybe they are just happy they don't have your high temperatures. And it is not as cold as it used to be, global warming.

It's supposed to be over 30C here today, with high humidity. The cloud cover hasn't burned off yet, but when it does...kerblam.

We had over 30C a while ago. Those tropical spells are lasting longer nowadays. Used to be just a couple of days, now it can be up to two weeks. Again, global warming.
