No no no, that's how many copies the seller planned on selling in his first year... and I seriously doubt he succeeded.

But maybe.

In the article, the seller (Morini) says there were 36 original paintings by this "Herbolet" and maybe there were... but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Morini created "Herbolet" out of whole cloth.

I would totally hang on to it for all the same reasons!

 

I made a run on sentence, speculating (whichis all I can do!) how many were in the portfolio

 

would like to see the torn paper.
normally the shops were named "tableaux/encadrement"
