Hi and thank you so much for your help with this. I always thought this was sort of a not so great painting. I liked it, almost felt like "one of the family" as it was on the wall for over 20 years where we eat, but never really felt it was by a seasoned artist. However now learn that it actually was by a known artist. What is your opinion about the quality, if I might ask?
Also, I haven't written Antiquer's members too often, maybe once or twice a year, but normally the correspondence looks different with the option to "Start a Conversation" Maybe you have it set like this for a reason? Only able to do a "profile post"? Difference is, anyone can read this. If you click on my name, maybe see if there is a "Start a Conversation" option and write back there if you can.
I think it's a charming work. Love the trompe-l'oiel touches. Think Hussa would be considered a minor regional artist and most interesting for his association with the WPA.
"Charming" is the perfect descriptor. Thank you. Well, lots of opinions on Antiquer's. I just pulled the CL ad while I sort this out. I can still respond to the "art dealer", since she emailed twice. I really appreciate your help finding the artist and opinion on the work. I tend to over think these things, get overly emotionally invested... my friend would say "that's because you're a Cancer."
