So I grabbed this from the bin before it hit the floor at GW.
It's 7-1/2" tall and weighs over a pound.
Not recalling the name of the material but YOU know.
Ideas on age, material, ballpark value?
    Thank you.

I see the words "Hand Painted."
Could that be Spain under the hand painted stamp....or could be Japan, it is very faint. And there is a line of letters that could be Greek or Russian or darn near anything. I tried some color correction, no improvement.

    It appears to be:
    ~
F/ T (<I'm not sure if I can't see what's there or there is just an odd gap)
    HAND PAINTED
(and probably something or other then); ITALY

    OH! That's clever!
I don't know how to do that though I don't see anything I couldn't before.
Rubbing doesn't work since it's printed not incised. :(
    Thanks! :)

    OMG!!!
When I posted this it was; Children's Picture Book Day! >>>
    Picture Books

Many of us have fond memories of our own favorite picture book or the ones our children loved most. From Dr. Seuss and classic fairy tales, to books about curious monkeys, trains' engines that can, famous bulls, llamas, elephants, magic dragons and even a big red dog, picture books capture and catapult children's imaginations to the world beyond.

Picture books are usually the first books children “read.” Many exude creativity or humor in pictures and often include an important message for little ones. These beautifully illustrated books can also help children begin their life-long love of reading.

In honor of Children's Picture Book Day, why not take a trip down memory lane and read one or two of your favorite picture books for old-times'-sake? Sometimes, a picture really is worth 1,000 words

    Happy Children's Picture Book Day!
