Love the plates! Someone must have loved that car to import one. Looks like a crustoration job - fixed up the motor and drive train, but left the "barn" patina outside.

That excrescence on the bonnet isn’t original.

In 1976, my friends and I were going to see Black Sabbath at the Richfield Coliseum in Ohio. We were driving in a similar Ford Anglia. The road going there heading from the west is very winding and hilly, and being in that little thing getting high, was scary. Then, the guy in the passenger seat, for some unknown reason, opened a can of tear gas. Talk about a buzz kill! It's a wonder we didn't crash...

Looks to me Marko, as if you've been stalking it. We had hundreds of Ford Anglias on the British roads, but I ever remember seeing on that strange hat on the bonnet or should I say 'hood'.

In the early 1950's I went on a school visit to the Ford Dagenham works. A phenomenal day out. They sold coal gas to the local distribution company, as well as cars.

I once paid a sales call to Ford at Dagenham and they walked me through the engine deportment. I think my bright yellow power dressing suit and very high heels looked slightly out of place, shall we say. That was in the days when car plants were pretty mucky places, not the almost laboratory environment they are now.

I was alive in '76, but at 10 my drugs came from the pharmacy, such as they were. Come to think, I haven't changed that much! Guess I was born to be a square.
