This is a beautiful vase that I would like to identify. I think it is Bohemian, but who made it? I love the lines of it - the simple wheat motif (suggesting Amber waves of grain to me) and the shape of the vase itself. I have followed many leads as to maker but have come up empty handed so far. Any ideas? Thanks for looking!

Yes, I forgot to add: the vase is about 7.5" tall. The last picture shows the base. These pictures came out huge; larger than life in fact!

WOW that is a pretty thing!

    Wish I could help.

Very elegant. I'm surprised it's not signed

I think you're on the right track with Bohemian.

    Very nice.
Is the base glass actually amber color? I can't tell looking at the base.

What I am wondering is if the wheat isn't gold leaf. The picture looking in shows a couple of dark areas which might be gold loss.
Only asking, because I cannot tell from the picture.

1910s Bohemian, possibly slightly earlier. Not cut to amber, but cut then gild embellished, by the look of it. The shape is very Edwardian and they were mad for that whole natural foliage thing.

(wiping drool off the keyboard) It's really lovely. If I wasn't de-accessioning I'd snap it right up.

Thanks for looking everyone! Now, here are a few more photos. I am starting to think there may be a vaseline component to this glass. Tell me what you think; even if you just think I'm crazy :O)

    1. Looking straight down; glass inside of neck has a strange bluish, greenish cast to it. Color changes a bit depending on viewing angle (grid pattern is the window screen)
    2. Close up of top edge; see the different glass at top?
    3. With black light (admittedly purchased at HD, not sure if it's the best to test with)

    Hi,
Your beautiful vase does NOT have any vaseline in it. Vaseline is a greenish yellow. "If it is blue or green it ain't vaseline" is a little rhyme to remember.

    Hi,
If it glows under "black light" it is called "uranium glass" even though other elements will cause a glow also, it is still considered uranium.
