    I cleared an apartment of a deceased blind guy last week.

    He was addicted to mail order and shopping channels.
    His apartment was stuffed with unopened mail order items dating back to 2001

    9 unopened DVD recorders, 5 DAB radios, toys, christmas items, computers, laptops, phones, CD's, DVD's and jewellry, you name it, he had it, all unopened.

    I found this 9ct gold ring, boxed in the bedroom.

    It weighs 2 grams in total, so assuming half the weight of it is gold
    1 gram @ 9ct = £22.59 (US $28.29)
    A bit of Rhodium, some solder and the diamonds 1 gram was the other half.

    He paid £1500 ($1878)

    QVC robbing the blind (pardon the pun ) me thinks.

    that's criminal.......and it would seem that the poor guys life.....was not much better !

    That's sick, also sad. All the guy had to do for fun was to order things he didn't need or want. I've seen this story before. The only people he talked to on a regular basis were the people answering the phones.

    This is such a common occurrence. My husband is a letter carrier & delivers to many elderly lonely folks. Weekly, he stops to chat with customers who are in the habit of buying/returning with TV programs like QVC & HSN, Jewelry TV, etc. it saddens us. The amount of $$ they spend to talk to a human is heart wrenching to say the least.
