Is it possible to determine a date range for a 5 piece sterling tea set by F.B.Rogers based on the style and mark? There is also a 6th piece (not sure what it's for) with the set that's by a different maker. All the pieces are in anti-tarnish bags by B. Altman, Fifth Ave (NY), which was a luxury department store where I suspect these were purchased. Their Fifth Ave store operated from 1906 to 1989.These are all family pieces that have been handed down. I'm hoping to determine which of two families it came from, and the date could help with that. Just after I posted this, I discovered from a fashion site that by the 1950's and later, B. Altman was using a script font for their label. The block font was earlier. That may narrow the date range a bit.

@Debora - that's very helpful. Although the monogram is registered in 1947, it says the first use date was 1915. But it may be even earlier. That logo is displayed in a 1914 pamphlet from B. Altman about their Fifth Ave store.

I always welcome corrections if I've provided mis-information. Would you be kind enough to provide an example of earlier usage?

Thank you. That does appear to be the same. I stand corrected. I do think, however, that the bags are near-immediate post-World War II based on the logo.
