Huge town-wide yard sales this morning

sorted through a metric ton of jewelry and 99.9% was junk. Picked up 2 UK Sterling rings, one Dublin and one Edinburgh (need help with a date letter)

also a few costume pieces, that I would have left sit any other day. But since it was slim pickings out there today, I grabbed them.

costume first. Top row, 2 AAI pins. Bottom row, unmarked jelly belly birds and an unmarked Coro cameo pendant




Next are the sterling rings, purchased together

Edinburgh marked 1987 Scottish Thistle signet ring


The second ring features a Connemara center circled with marcasites with a clover of marcasites. Unfortunately missing 2 stones and 2 or 3 have damaged surfaces. This ring was assayed in Dublin, but I can’t make sense of the date letter, it looks like a number 1 and does not resemble any of the “I” letter fonts. It is also marked “sterling”, so I presume it was an export piece.



Can anyone help with this please?

 

It is the 1976 'i' imo, which looks like a '1'.

My usual resource didn’t show modern Dublin letter. So I had to look elsewhere…this was the chart I found

I have the sisters/brothers to those birdies. Also not marked; I've never know who did them. My thing for catseye glass did rear its head and I did buy. Can't say I'm sorry.
