WW1 us helmet dating

    Hi all, I just got this helmet and I'm trying to date it the marking looks like VD 33 or 38, does anyone know the dating period

    It is probably WD 38. This is the mark of William Dobson & Son of Birmingham, who started in 1938 but only made them for a couple years or so.
