Woven basket purse? Bag? African?

I was told this is from Botswana, but can't be sure. What is it? It's sort of big, looks like a big purse, but certainly couldn't hold things like a purse would because of the holes. Thanks for your time & thoughts
Oh, and it has some damage on one of the straps, so probably not worth anything, but I am just curious as to what it is.

Yea, I never thought about fruits/vegs! Makes sense, thanks Komokwa. I wonder if there would be a name for it? I can't find anything similar when searching African woven fruit and/or veg basket.
