    Probably Mexican, based on the Chacmool reclining figure on the top. The Chacmool is one of the iconic figures of Mesoamerican pre-Columbian history, although there is still debate about its origins and meaning. Examples have been found from central Mexico to El Salvador, but it is an image most often associated with Mexico.

    This is a carved tourist souvenir, so it is entirely possible that it was carved elsewhere...you can't always go by the image depicted to determine where it was made. (There are probably Chacmool tourist souvenirs made in China, but sold in Mexico!) It does appear to be carved from a tropical wood that could be found in Mexico though.

    Hello,
    yes tourist comercial 100%, It a mix of cultures, original to Mexico but not representative to Mayan or Mexica culture, only chac-mool figurine.
