Wooden lidded box with leather & enamel

    I am posting this in furniture as it seems the closest. This is a small wooden lidded match box with enamel (champleve?) on leather 4 x 4 x 3 in. I thought it may be French, but I honestly do not have any information. I would appreciate any information such as country of origin and time period. Thanks a lot!
