Not sure where to put this and other items such as wood sculptures. I guess it doesn't warrant a Wood section here, but maybe there's a better place to post things like this.

It's something that looks like a cutting board, but that would quickly ruin it I believe.
    Perhaps its for ceremonial use.

    It's 14 3/4" by 9.5" by 3/4" thick.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

 You're showing it upside down, but aside from that, my first thought was a serving tray.....but with the scraps of sticky tape (?) on the back, looks like they decided to hang it instead.......without putting holes in it....looks very nice!!!

Thanks. I got glasses after not wearing them for about 10 years. They gave me one pair for nearsighted and one for farsighted, when I used to just wear one pair for everything. I complained that the other doctor prescribed bifocals and wanted my old prescription, both times I got the wrong pair prescribed. It's a hassle not being able to walk around with glasses on or see close up with the other glasses one. I guess they sold me another pair even though I did my best!

(I could say I tried to return them but I couldn't find them but that would be a joke. In WA State you need a new prescription I think every year or something).

Most eye doctors I've seen in my adult life suggested a visit every 2 years, unless you have difficulty seeing before that.

I would say this is a challah board used for cutting the challah (traditional Jewish bread) at the Shabbat table.

Seconded. Sabbath Challah board. The candles are a dead giveaway. The adult female head of household says a prayer over the candles and bread at the beginning of the Sabbath meal. The chip carving is Eastern or Northeastern European in style if not origin.

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    looks like a Challah board
the stickies may have held little rubber feet
the writing is the give a way.............but really not !

    chodesh ....means month
    shevat.......not shabbat ....... is a month
( now, it may say Shabbat...... yes the sabbath candles ..... but that dot missing inside the B ...... well I'm being picky...)

so.....it says Month of Shevat or...( Sabbath month....) .........which in no way means happy sabbath....

and as a challah board.....it would be cut up to shreds....in no time....

so...I can't really say what it is....only the carver can...

It also might be ornamental, meant to hang on a wall "for pretty".
