73052A3F-4FCE-4933-9E03-9CAE3ED3C0B9.jpeg I’ve got a wooden chair and it looks similar to a Windsor elbow chair. There’s no markings on it anywhere so I’m not sure. Any ideas on it’s possible age please?

It looks factory made but beyond that... can get get a look at the underside where most of the clues will be? I'm not expert enough to guess. The legs say 50s, but I've never seen spool arm supports before. Is this in the USA, UK, or somewhere else?

Thanks for your reply. I’m in the uk. I got it for free and I wasn’t planning on it being anything special but just curious.

Definitely need more/better photos. Could be late Victorian or well on into the 20th century.

Pics are small so not enough to go on. Most important thing to see further is the seat. Single board or made of multiples glued together? I am thinking 20th century, pre-WWII.

The seat seems to be all one piece. I’ve tried uploading the photo in a larger format. 3349BA13-A31A-4963-B155-F3A0CCCE73C5.jpeg 3349BA13-A31A-4963-B155-F3A0CCCE73C5.jpeg B7694E79-FBE6-42A7-8C17-248D00F64202.jpeg

A single board seat would likely make this mid 19th century or so.

I am not saying this is a single board seat, as I still cannot tell from these photos. If you are satisfied that it is, then so be it. Truthfully, I am not seeing the kind of wear I would expect on a 170 year old chair. A shot straight down from the top would be helpful. Sometimes, the glue joints are not easily seen.

The seat does look like one piece of wood. Could it be a frankenchair, or have been made in Southeast Asia? That would explain the odd design.
