    Hi,
I have this carved Buddha from Thailand - looks like wood to me but I don't know what kind of wood.He is heavy, weighs 22 oz or 630 grams. I love his heart shaped belly button.
    Hoping someone will know.
    thanks for looking!

I would think molded resin/composite material.

Thanks kardinalisimo! lol, I looked at this and convinced myself it wasn't resin - guess I should pay attention to my first impression:)

Is not there a crack on the inside of the sack that reveals the white material?
You can tell that is resin when you look closely at the 'carvings'. Do you see how shallow and incomplete are some of them?

Looks like resin to me too. If you can't find any kind of grain pattern on the bottom, it isn't very likely to be wood. The weight doesn't mean much without the dimensions.

No, I can't see any white but I do notice small holes - air holes I guess from being in the mold. Yes, looking at the greek key design you can see where parts are incomplete - thanks for the tip kardinalisimo!
You are right spring, size is important - it is 3 1/2"H x 3" across the base.
