More from the clever blokes. They wanted to sell me a rather unpleasant very modern silver bracelet for thirteen quid. I did not buy it.

Bought these two for nine quid total though.

 

I wonder if the clasp is a bracelet clasp rather than a necklace clasp. Maybe one of a pair.

 

Im drooling! How do 'clever' guys not know the value of these garnet pieces.

Oh, that’s a thought, a bracelet would make much more sense. I was thinking something like a choker, but the thing is BIG. I’m wondering if it was linked set hardstones. There was a pinchbeck one on last nights ARS.

The garnet brooch is only an inch long, but lovely. One missing stone, which means you can see how the foiling was done.

The clever blokes only look for British hallmarks. This is why they are not clever. This is why I have bought unmarked silver and gold from them, let alone the proper antiques.

 

And that’s a very cute pendant, too.

 

I didn't even notice the missing one! Clever that.
