I find myself strangely drawn to this folksy winter scene. The painting measures 15” by 7-1/4” and appears to be oil on paperboard. It “feels” old to me but I’m not sure when artists started using paperboard? There is a signature but, for the life of me, I can’t make it out. If anyone can read this name, please let me know. Also, I’d appreciate it if you shared your thoughts about the age of the painting with me. Thanks!

So I can’t speak for the first 1 or 2 letters, after that I'm seeing “SIVYKER”.

that damn “K” is getting in the way of Kirsten Sivyer

Can we see the back? I am thinking 30s-50s for this but kind of a guess at this point. I think regionalist in style. Has a somewhat naive quality to it but I like it.

Agree re the näif quality. The framing of the bunny certainly contributes to that.

May be earlier than I thought. 20s-30s maybe.
