Willow tea bowl - impressed S mark

    What does the impressed 's' stand for please?

    I don't know what the "S" means, but maybe someone else will come along who does. It's a lovely old transferware pottery tea bowl. The British blue willow pattern originated in the late 18th c. Yours would, I'm guessing, date from early 19th c.
