A blue and white plate and what I think is a VERY modern teapot, but input would be appreciated.

PLate is hand painted, nicely, and porcelain.

Hi, the mark on the plate is a Qianlong mark, but looks quite new to me. The teapot looks more like a Japanese Kyusu to me, and yes, indeed it is also very modern, but nice! Could be from Tokoname region....

Thanks most much, Mat. Yes, the plate does look new to me, too, I know there's a lot of spurious marks out there. Kyusu is the word I needed - thank you for that, too. It is indeed well done.

Blimey, just looked at some Tokoname ones. Not cheap, are they. This thing cost me fifty cents!

I do not think you paid too much... Was the tray included ? :)

The tray was a whole other fifty cents, and a modern Chinese vase the same. ;) Three items for a pound - that's a dollar fifty.
