Who - What - When Anyone recognize this signature

Hoping someone can recognize this signature so I can identify and date this piece. It stands about 2 1/2" high, 6" wide. Cranberry coloration with gold flakes. Not sure if it is just art glass or meant to be a bud vase. Very small opening. Thanks

 

I think that is a little oil lamp. I had one like it but different colors .Mine had a sticker but for the life of me I cant remember what it said.

The signature looks very similar to art deco French art glass maker (verreries françaises). I can't make it out necessarily but the handwriting looks French and I know very famous pâte à verre makers like Charles Schneider signed many pieces in conspicuous gold paint like this. The first letter looks like either a lower case "g" or capital "S". My best guess is it says "SMIGIL" but I can't figure what maker that would correspond to. Post an update if you find out more!
