This suave gentleman has been adorning a shelf in my house for some time now but I don't know anything about him and have not done any research. Where to start?
He came in a job lot in an auction of other nice tribal pieces but very little info. The only things I can supply are the photos [please ignore cat food [nothing gets past them] and the height - 48 cm. Not very heavy. Quite a lot of wear but no damage. Souvenir? the almond eyes and ritual scarification on the forehead could point towards a Baule style............but it's a loose connection at best.

I hate to break it to you, but your gentleman looks like a lady, including cleavage.:sorry:
    I agree, a tourist piece, artificially rubbed/aged.
