I've not been posting so much this week as I have been on holiday in Madeira. Fabulous place but only one charity shop which seemed to charge over 10 euros for everything including a 3" Minton Marlow pin dish.

Anyway back home now... I bought this today for a couple o quid. I was thinking possibly Murano at first. It has a ground down pontil and polished base so thought it's hand blown so I would always get my money back. Besides I really like it so it could quite happily sit on the side forever. It's nice and tactile.

I've done a Google image search and found this below: -

It would be nice if it was an original Whitefriars but I'm very open to the idea of it just being a lookalike.

Incidentally I always struggle telling a genuine whitefriars piece. There seem to be so many repros about. Are there any telltale signs? It is 12.5cm square.

As someone who has several hundred pieces of Whitefriars….

yup, it’s kosher. Seventies, Baxter. Base, colour and profile are spot on. It’s the deeper blue, not kingfisher, the other one.

Never seen a piece of it except on TV/Youtube. Then again you Brits never get any Blenko, so we're about even.
