White metal elephant pin cushion

    hifolks

    something else i found in a charity shop yesterday.
    thought it was pewter at first but it cleaned of tarnish as if there was some silver content, maybe plated ?
    there is some kind of mark underneath
    indian ?
    i dont think much age at all, but still quite cool for £2
    cant find one exact online
    any thoughts of info appreciated

    It is lovely.
    I saw an antique silver one in the Dutch version of the Antiques Roadshow ("Tussen kunst en kitsch"). Apparently those are extremely rare, so I'm not surprised someone made a copy. Not everyone can pay for an antique rarity, and this is a very nice alternative.
