    When was this likely made?
I recognise it's not an original piece but is it an old reproduction?
The panels seem very smooth inside and on top. Very machined.
    But I don't know much

I’d call it Las Vegas Boulle Revival. Late 20th Century.

BTW I just made up that style, but it fits, don’t you think?

Like something a posh Punk vampire would have in their New Orleans flat-wild and decadent. It's as if someone faux finished it in a state of frozen decay-interesting.

@Ghopper1924 @verybrad can you gents guess if the Ormolu is old and is that amber red a shell inlay ?
Suppose it's trying to emulate this style-

All the similars -- and there are a lot -- on the internet are described as "Napoloeon III." Can someone explain to me why this example isn't from that period?

I would have guessed Napoleon III (mid-19th) as well.

Really not my area of expertise but don't see why this could not be 19th centuty based on what we can see. Want to see more construction details. Drawer joinery and bottom particularly, as well as the back. Hardware and lock photos would also be helpful. Listing says it has a marble top. Would like to see it removed. Just really not enough information/pictures to say anything definitively.

I do know that Boulle furniture was heavily reproduced/revived in the 20th Century, to the point where when I’ve seen pieces such as this my first thought is to prove that they are NOT 20th Century.

Also, the marble top on the first piece seems crudely cut. The second piece looks to be of better quality.

The bottom right hand side of the door on the inside kind of looks like MDF. To me the panels and top look like MDF they just seem so straight and flat and machine formed.
But then on the other hand some of the Golden pieces look like they have quite a lot of patina on them just rubbing and denting. Unless that was some sort of artificial distressing.
But as people point out would need to see it in real life.
