Wheel thrown vs Molded Pottery

    Hi all,

    I realize these specific bottles are not worth all that much, whether they be molded or not, but I want to use them more as a way to understand the difference.


    I got both these Bols bottles from the thrift today. From what I've read they made wheelthrown ones from the late 1800's till very early 20th century. Molded ones after that.


    How do you tell the difference? I want to think the first bottle is a newer molded one and the second could possibly be wheel thrown. But is there any way to tell for sure. By material used or signs on bottom or lips?
