Whatzit cranky thing?

    A man brought this to the local machinist’s club meeting, wondering what does. The crank is directly connected to the Z-shaped part, so it rotates when crank turned. The two wood rollers turn opposite so a string between them would be pushed toward the Z. They only turn part of the time crank is turned, they turn then “hesitate” for about as long as they were turning. The dollar is about 6 1/8” long. Wat du dat mosheen du?
