Whatsit - little brass cap things

I found a huge jar full of these things. Hoping someone might know what these are for. It doesn't stick to a magnet. Thank you

Are they soft enough for the tube to split like a rivet? could be feet for purses. Or just glue into drilled holes on bottom of a box?

elarnia, these are very hard. I think these are for feet. If they are for shelves, they would have to be very small.
