This big glass jar is marked "GE". But the only glass I can find marked this is refrigerator jars that are much smaller and decorative in design. My first thoughts on this were old glass battery. But there's no opening for leads. Any ideas?

    8" tall and 7" across.

    Hi,
I think it is a "marriage". That GE top is a different glass than the base.

You're probably right because it doesn't fit well either.

Agree, it's a married piece. I'm going to guess that the GE piece is a cover for a 1940s - 1950s automotive spotlight, either hand held with a cord for the cig lighter, or attached to an articulating arm on a vehicle. Would be mounted so that the lip would engage some type of clamping bezel. Of course, I could be way off, too!
