Just wonderin' ? Somebody must've stumbled across a Rothko or Pollock over Granny's toilet in the 5-10 years.

Komo-You're dead right ! Now that I'm steeling myself to leap back into the shark infested waters of Ebay,I'm harvesting all the expertise I can on my ignored objects-no need to take some good items to badwill.

Well, since you phrased the question that way.

I found this about two years ago.

I think its an antiquity, a live rendered drawing from witnessing this sword mentioned here:

"So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life." Genesis 3:24

Pretty sure it was a mirage dressed like a thrift store.

And the Thrift Store Mirage was masquerading as a Proto-Hebraic band led by an old sandy geezer named Abraham ?
...could it be Roman Graffiti, The sword looks similar to a Roman Gladius...Gladiator's grave marker...now that would be a decent Goodwill find (unless looted-help !). Now when were you last in Jerusalem ?

    Never have been.

We did have a thread on this piece and the thought also was that it may be Viking, as Seattle has a lot of Scandinavians. I contacted the Nordic Museum here and a couple others but did not get much of a response.

It's a very interesting item.Museums that specialize in ancient items might be worth a call -but,larger respected institutions like the British Museum or the Norton Simon are hesitant to give opinions because if they did they'd get thousands of queries a year.
You might play with it in Photoshop, scan it and do a google image search, might at least return what the iconography means.
