Wondering if anyone might have any idea of what type of printing process was used to make this? Also could use help with the name. Thanks

    Look up Henry Oliver Walker.

It looks like a lithograph to me.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The name looks like Henry O. Walker, and as moreotherstuff mentioned there was a famous painter/muralist named Henry Oliver Walker. But I haven't been able to find the painter's signature. And every work of his that I've found is a painting, not a print or a drawing. ... So it's unclear at this point.

It looks like the original drawing was done on textured paper, so if the paper in your piece is smooth it would indicate it's a reproduction.

If it's a reproduction and you see very small regular dots under magnification, it's an inexpensive offset lithograph. If there aren't small dots, that indicates a somewhat better process was used, but it still may have been mass-produced.

I would like to thank everyone for their replies. I decided to take the backing off of the frame and remove the print. The backing behind the print is marked Henry O. Walker "Grief" 1918, hand written in ink. Took a magnifying glass to the print and did not see any regular pattern of dots. The paper has a very smooth feel to it. Almost like wax paper but without as much of the coating.

Henry Oliver Walker was 75 in 1918. I think this is consistent with his output. Still looks like a lithograph to me. It could be a reproduction, or it might be am original. You'll have to get a hands-on assessment from someone who can tell the difference. There's only so much you can tell from photos. Maybe run it past a couple of auction houses? Even sending to photos, you might encounter someone who has seen it before and knows the score.

These is auto-lithographie. Fine reprductions of dessin made with lithographie methode. It is from album of auto-lithographie of many artistes Americains. Made on 1918.

I am someones who "knows the score."

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I think it's intriguing enough for an investment of time... I'm too lazy, but if you are motivated, I found tons of Walker's art online... tried looking for signatures... if you get lucky you might find one. Also, might be worth writing a gallery which carries his stuff, and asking for help. I find those folks are usually friendly. Good luck!
