What type of coral am I?

    It could be dyed, which won't help at all. If you are confident that it is coral, just leave it at that.

    Coral could run into CITES restrictions nowadays.

    And with the dubious state of ivory ownership in the USA, maybe coral could suffer a similar fate?

    It was $5 at the estate sale. It looked different from what I see on websites selling coral beads. Yes, I think many corals will be banned soon.
